Aquarium to be housed in PowerDome

The Mountain Dew PowerDome: ice hockey arena, entertainment complex, arcade, bar and gril...aquarium?

By the next two months, yes, there will be an aquarium housed in the PowerDome.

The deal was made with the Atlantis Aquarium to have rights to display native animals such as sharks, stingrays, and thousands of exotic fish. The aquarium, which will be called the Del Monte Aquarium (after the official sponsorship and ownership of the Oceanic)., will be located near the arcade.

GM Kyle Peters hopes it will bring a native feel to the Oceanic. "We want the PowerDome to be something for everyone", says Prestberg, "we're trying to bring the Bahamas to the visitors".

It is unkown whether live shows will be held. There are a few rumours of the arena being used, but those have been dismissed by Peters. All it is known is that the PowerDome will be getting some fishy visitors soon (I know, that was a bad pun).

Mountain Dew PowerDome opens

The home of the Oceanic officially opened today. Fans enjoyed a day at the arena by visiting the team store, meeting with new mascot Splash, and taking shots and playing NHL 12 in the interactive zone (pictured below).

"Today is a great boost for Bahaman hockey fans", says Kyle Peters, owner/GM of the Oceanic, "we hope that our bid proves to be one of the two new BMHL teams. With all your support, it looks like we might have a chance at it."
